Crystal Palace will aim to complete a league double over Manchester United for the first time in history at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Crystal Palace will be aiming to complete a league double over Manchester United for the first time in history when the two teams lock horns at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

The Eagles recorded a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League back in September, with Joachim Andersen netting the only goal of the contest in Manchester.

Palace will now be aiming to complete a league double over the 20-time English champions for the first time.

Man United comfortably lead the overall head-to-head record between the two sides, posting 41 wins to Palace's 11, while there have also been 13 draws.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of Palace's success over the Red Devils has come in recent years, winning four of the last 10 matches between the two teams in all competitions.

Palace looking for first ever league double over Man United

Man United were last victorious away to Palace in July 2020, running out 2-0 winners at Selhurst Park courtesy of goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial under the leadership of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils actually triumphed in eight of their first 11 away Premier League fixtures against Palace but are now winless in their last three, drawing twice and suffering one defeat.

Erik ten Hag's side have only lost one of their last nine matches in all competitions, but they have been victorious in just one of their last six in the Premier League.

The team's last four league games have produced one win and three draws, sharing the points with relegation-threatened Burnley last weekend.

Man United can no longer secure Champions League football next season, with the team instead battling to secure either Europa League or Conference League action during the 2023-24 campaign.

Man United sweating over Bruno Fernandes fitness

The Red Devils trained on Thursday before having Friday off, but they will be back at Carrington on Saturday to prepare for the trip to Palace.

Scott McTominay is set to train after overcoming a knee injury, but Bruno Fernandes is a doubt for the clash in London, with the Portugal international struggling with an unspecified problem.

Ten Hag has refused to rule Fernandes out of the game at Selhurst Park, though, and it would not be a surprise to see him in the XI considering his incredible fitness record.

Rashford is set to miss a third straight league match with the problem that he picked up in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City last month.

Meanwhile, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Willy Kambwala and Martial remain unavailable, but Jonny Evans has a chance of returning to the squad.
