Phil Jones believes that he has time to 'cement' a permanent playing position in Manchester United's side.

Phil Jones has revealed that he is happy to play in a defensive or midfield role for Manchester United.

The ex-Blackburn Rovers star has experience in central defence as well as in the middle of the park for both the Red Devils and England.

"I enjoy playing anywhere. I enjoy playing football, so wherever I am asked to play I will play," Jones said. "If the manager asks me to play right-back, centre-back or midfield, I will go and do a job there.

"I don't think it really matters at the moment that I am cementing a spot in a certain position because I am still young. Hopefully, as my career progresses that will happen."

The 19-year-old scored his first goal for the Premier League champions in the side's 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
