Steve Bruce hails "remarkable" Sir Alex Ferguson

Steve Bruce admits that Sir Alex Ferguson's 25 years at Old Trafford have been "remarkable".

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has said that Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure at Old Trafford has been "remarkable".

Bruce, who starred for Ferguson from 1987 to 1996, was part of the Scot's first ever side to win the Premier League in 1993. However, the former Birmingham boss insists that his side will do their best to beat the champions at Old Trafford this afternoon.

"It's typical that it's Sunderland who are going there," he said, ahead of the match that marks Ferguson 25th anniversary at the club.

"It's a remarkable achievement by Sir Alex. 25 years at Old Trafford is incredible. We've got a wonderful record there of last winning in 1968!

"I hope we can go and at least take part like we did a couple of years ago."

The Black Cats are currently four points outside the relegation zone in 14th place in the Premier League.
