A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Saturday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Barcelona 'to offload five players in January'
Barcelona are reportedly prepared to ship out a quintet of players during the January transfer window as they aim to raise funds for future business.
Like many clubs across the globe, the Catalan giants have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and are facing losses of up to £88m in the wake of the ongoing outbreak.
Barcelona are believed to be embroiled in an internal battle with players and staff over wage cuts, and the La Liga powerhouses are now supposedly looking to sell a number of players in a further attempt to decrease their wage bill.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite, Carles Alena, Junior Firpo and Samuel Umtiti could all be heading for the Camp Nou exit door in a couple of months' time.
Manchester United were linked with a swoop for Dembele during the summer but the Frenchman ultimately remained in Catalonia, although a recent report has suggested that the Red Devils still harbour an interest in the former Borussia Dortmund man.
Barcelona have suffered an underwhelming start to the 2020-21 La Liga season with two wins, two draws and two losses from their opening six matches.
Real Madrid 'confident of signing Erling Braut Haaland in 2022'
Real Madrid are reportedly becoming increasingly confident that they will sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The 20-year-old has been in sensational form for Dortmund since joining the club from Red Bull Salzburg in January, scoring 26 times in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Haaland has already netted 10 times in 10 outings for BVB this term, including four goals in three Champions League fixtures during an excellent start to the 2020-21 season.
Manchester United were strongly linked with the forward earlier this year and are thought to retain an interest, but Madrid have also been mentioned as suitors on a number of occasions.
According to AS, Madrid are optimistic of signing the Norway international in the summer of 2022 and believe that their strong relationship with Dortmund will help them win the race for his signature.
Los Blancos have seemingly identified Haaland as their number one target to replace Karim Benzema, with the Frenchman entering the latter stages of his career.
The youngster's existing deal at Signal Iduna Park is due to run until June 2024.
