Romelu Lukaku should return to action in Manchester United's next Premier League match at home to struggling Stoke City on January 15.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is expected to return to action in his club's next Premier League match at home to struggling Stoke City on January 15.

Lukaku picked up a head injury in the early stages of United's goalless draw with Southampton on Saturday afternoon, which left him needing oxygen as he was stretchered off the field.

The Belgian subsequently missed his team's 2-0 win over Everton on New Year's Day, and will also sit out Friday's FA Cup clash with Derby County as he recovers from the blow.

United boss Jose Mourinho, however, has all but confirmed that the 24-year-old will be fit to take on Stoke at Old Trafford in two weeks.

"I would say a week [out for Lukaku]. It's nothing really important - just a little protection, but no problem," Mourinho told Sky Sports News.

Lukaku has scored 10 Premier League goals in 21 appearances for the Red Devils this season.
