Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Manchester United ahead of their Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.

Manchester United's goalless draw with bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday was marred by injuries to three players in the opening 45 minutes at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils, already without Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial among others, were forced to use all three of their subs before half time.

Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard all picked up hamstring injuries to leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a growing injury list heading into a busy run of fixtures.

Here, Sports Mole looks at United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their encounter with Palace at Selhurst Park.

MAN UNITED'S INJURY LIST

Ander Herrera

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

The first of United's players to limp off the field against Liverpool, Herrera tweaked his hamstring and will be assessed in the coming days. The Spaniard has not yet been ruled out of the Palace match, but he is expected to spend some time on the sidelines.

Juan Mata

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Mata will also have to be assessed before United know how long he will be out. The former Chelsea ace attempted to play on against Liverpool, but the pain proved too much and he had to make way.

Jesse Lingard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Lingard was rushed back to fitness to take a place on the bench against Liverpool. Solskjaer decided to turn to the Englishman, rather than Alexis Sanchez, as a replacement for Mata, and that move backfired as he lasted just 15 minutes before pulling up with a recurrence of the same injury sustained against Paris Saint-Germain two weeks ago.

Marcus Rashford

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: February 27

Rashford did not look comfortable in the Liverpool stalemate from the moment he was clattered by Jordan Henderson early on. The England striker had to stay on the field as United had already used all three subs, but he is a major doubt for the trip to Palace.

Anthony Martial

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: February 27

Whereas Lingard was rushed back to play a part against Liverpool, Martial was given an extra few days' rest. Given that he has a few training sessions under his belt, the Frenchman is likely to be included in the squad to face Palace.

Nemanja Matic

Status: Ruled out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 6

Matic's omission against Liverpool came as a surprise, but it later emerged that he picked up an injury in training that Solskjaer predicts will keep him out of action for a couple of weeks. Matic will target the huge Champions League clash with PSG on March 6 for his return to action.

Antonio Valencia

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 27

Valencia is nearing a return having not featured since January 2. A setback in training further delayed his comeback, but he should now be fit to provide some competition at right-back.

Matteo Darmian

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 27

Another player that has struggled with injuries for large parts of the campaign, Darmian will be given a chance to prove his fitness ahead of the trip to South London.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 27

Having missed the majority of the season through injury, Rojo is finally back on the training ground and has an outside chance of being included in the squad.

Phil Jones

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: February 27

If Solskjaer's injury problems were not already bad enough, Jones is struggling with an illness bug and is also doubtful, possibly leaving the Norwegian without 10 players.

MAN UNITED SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this match. Paul Pogba was sent off against PSG, but that suspension only applies to the Champions League.
