Half-Time Report: Tottenham Hotspur ahead at Old Trafford

Emmanuel Adebayor scores in the 34th minute to give Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 lead against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur are 1-0 up against Manchester United at half time in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The hosts made a positive start to the contest with Danny Welbeck testing Hugo Lloris twice in the opening six minutes, but the first clear-cut chance fell to Spurs.

Roberto Soldado sent a through-ball to Aaron Lennon, who shot on goal, but David de Gea made a good save between the United posts.

The London outfit began to show more confidence thereafter and took the lead in the 34th minute through Emmanuel Adebayor.

Christian Eriksen floated in a good cross from the right flank and the striker headed home past De Gea.

Soldado could have doubled his side's advantage six minutes before half time when he found himself at the end of a Lennon cross, but the Spaniard failed to get his effort on target.
