How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how title hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur could line up for their Premier League clash with Manchester United at Wembley.

Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday knowing that victory would lift them back up to third in the Premier League table until at least Monday night.

Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily linked with the United job since Jose Mourinho's departure, but he comes up against one of his main challengers for the role in interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Spurs have won 15 of their last 18 outings across all competitions, including all three so far in 2019 without conceding.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how they could line up against the Red Devils.

Possible TOT XI vs. MNU

Out: Victor Wanyama (knee)
Doubtful: Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Eric Dier (appendix), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Lucas Moura (knee)

Pochettino named a near-full strength side for the midweek EFL Cup win over Chelsea, and he is unlikely to make too many changes for this match.

Captain Hugo Lloris will return in goal, while the likes of Ben Davies and Erik Lamela may also be hopeful of working their way into the starting XI after being on the bench last time out.

The in-form Son Heung-min is expected to lead the line in what will be his final game before joining up with South Korea at the Asian Cup.

There is also an outside chance that Eric Dier could return to the squad following surgery to remove his appendix last month, while Jan Vertonghen is also closing in on a comeback and Lucas Moura will be assessed before kickoff.

Mousa Dembele could also be in contention following an ankle injury, although the possibility of a January move to China could mean that he has played his final game for the club.
