Nani reveals that the Manchester United squad have been troubled by their Champions League exit.

Nani has admitted that he "wept like a kid" following Manchester United's exit from the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils were defeated 2-1 by Swiss club FC Basel to condemn Sir Alex Ferguson's side to the Europa League.

The Portuguese winger has revealed that all of his teammates have been troubled by the defeat.

"I wept like a kid in the dressing room in Basel," the Daily Star quotes the 25-year-old as saying. "All of my teammates were also affected because nobody could quite believe that we had been knocked out at just the group stage. It was like hell in there.

"This defeat and the loss at Wembley in the final last May have been the worst two days in my United career.

"I am so sad about what has happened. It is almost unbelievable. The dressing room in Basel was like a funeral."

United face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford this afternoon.
