David de Gea: 'Real Sociedad play great football'

Manchester United keeper David de Gea believes that Tuesday's Champions League opponents Real Sociedad have been playing "great football" for a number of years.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has expressed his belief that Real Sociedad have been playing "great football" for a number of years.

United face Sociedad in a Champions League Group A encounter on Tuesday knowing that a repeat result of their 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford could see them qualify for the knockout stages with two games to spare.

"It's very difficult to play at the level Real Madrid and Barcelona are at. They might not be at the top top level yet but it's obvious Real Sociedad have been playing great football over the years," De Gea told PA.

"They made it very complicated for us in the first game and we hope to do our best against them."

Sociedad currently sit bottom of the group having failed to pick up any point from their opening three games.
