West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly taken an interest in signing Manchester City midfielder Brahim Diaz.
Last month, Pellegrini was confirmed as the replacement for David Moyes and it appears that the Chilean is looking to do business with his former club.
According to The Sun, Pellegrini has identified Diaz as a possible replacement for Manuel Lanzini, who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.
City boss Pep Guardiola may prefer to oversee the development of the youngster at the Etihad Stadium, but Pellegrini could offer the 18-year-old regular action in East London.
Pellegrini and Diaz are no strangers to each other, with Pellegrini signing Diaz - then just 14 years of age - for City from former club Malaga.
The Spaniard has made one start and 10 substitute outings in City's first team.
