Marcos Lopes leaves Manchester City for Monaco

Marcos Lopes joins Monaco from Manchester City on a five-year contract.

Manchester City have confirmed that midfielder Marcos Lopes has joined Monaco on a five-year deal.

The 20-year-old made five appearances for City after moving to the Etihad Stadium from Benfica in 2011.

Portuguese Under-21 international Lopes spent last season on loan at Lille, scoring three goals in 27 games.

City continue their Premier League campaign tomorrow when they host Watford.

Manuel Pellegrini's side currently have a two-point lead at the top of the table following three wins from their first three matches of the season.
