Manchester City have allegedly sent scouts to monitor the development of Atalanta BC youngster Roberto Piccoli.
Pep Guardiola has frequently insisted that City will not be in the market for new first-team players during the January transfer window.
However, according to Calciomercato, City are considering an approach for Piccoli, who has starred in this season's UEFA Youth League.
Despite having failed to build on two senior outings during the last campaign, the 18-year-old has contributed six goals in as many games in that competition.
The report suggests that City representatives were left impressed when Piccoli lined up against their own academy side in recent months.
