Manchester City have reportedly decided to try to extend the contract of winger Leroy Sane.
The Germany international has impressed since making the move from Schalke 04 in 2016, with 16 goals being scored from 65 appearances in the Premier League.
Sane still has just under three years remaining on his existing deal, but according to The Telegraph, that has not stopped City from making efforts to hand the player fresh terms at the Etihad Stadium.
The report claims that City are keen to start tying up the long-term futures of some of their key players, and that includes trying to ensure that Sane does not attract any interest from elsewhere.
The stance may come from the growing uncertainly regarding Raheem Sterling, who has less than two years left on his contract and is yet to show signs of penning a new deal.
