Manchester City make Ross Barkley, Luke Shaw transfer priorities?

Manchester City reportedly put Ross Barkley and Luke Shaw at the top of their transfer wishlist in a bid to reach next season's homegrown quota.

Manchester City have reportedly placed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley and Southampton left-back Luke Shaw at the top of their summer transfer wishlist.

Both players have already been linked with City, while Shaw is also said to have attracted admirers in Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, according to The Express, City are determined to sign Barkley and Shaw in a bid to meet the quota which requires eight homegrown players in every 25-man squad in the Premier League.

Reports have claimed that City are concerned about not reaching this target due to the futures of Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott being uncertain.

Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell have failed to make an impression at the North-West outfit, while Gareth Barry could join Everton on a permanent basis.
