Carlos Tevez has issued a statement regarding events in Munich last night that led Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini to declare that the striker would never play for the club again.
In a post-match interview, Mancini said that Tevez had refused to come off the bench as a substitute, but the Argentinian has now disputed these claimes.
"I would like to apologise to the Manchester City supporters, with whom I have always had a strong relationship, for any misunderstanding that occurred in Munich," the statement read.
"They understand that when I am on the pitch I have always given my best for the club.
"In Munich on Tuesday I had warmed up and i was ready to play. This is not the right time to go into specific details as to why this did not happen, but I wish to state I never refused to play.
"There was some confusion on the bench and I believe my position was misunderstood.
"Going forward I am ready to play when required and to fulfil my obligations."
