New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has spoken highly of Roberto Mancini's work with the North-West outfit.
The Italian coach was sacked a year to the day that he helped guide City to their first Premier League title in 44 years.
While Pellegrini has paid tribute to Mancini's efforts, the Chilean has insisted that it is time for a "new cycle" at the Etihad Stadium.
"Roberto [Mancini] did a great job here in Manchester, especially to win the title after so many years," Pellegrini told the club's official website. "We now start a new cycle.
"I had other important offers from important clubs. The most important thing for me is I am sure we can make a great management team."
Pellegrini signed a three-year contract and will begin his work with the team on June 24.
