Manchester City rejected the chance to sign Raheem Sterling for £500k, according to reports.
The Times claims that Queens Park Rangers offered a 14-year-old Sterling to City six years before he signed for the club.
The 20-year-old instead signed for a Liverpool for £600k, which rose to £5m, before making a £49m move to the Citizens in the summer.
Sterling will face Liverpool for the first time since leaving the club this afternoon, and will be expecting a hostile reception from the Reds fans.
