Manchester City "have the capacity" to still win this season's Premier League title, according to Gabriel Jesus.

Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus has insisted that his side are still capable of winning this season's Premier League title despite last weekend's 3-1 loss at Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola's side are currently nine points off the top of the table, meaning that they will have to rely on Liverpool to falter to stand any chance of pulling themselves back into the race.

The reigning champions did manage to overturn a seven-point deficit during last season's race, though, and Jesus has said that his team "have the capacity" to claw back the ground.

"There are 26 matches left and that's a long way out even to think who will win the Premier League," Jesus told reporters. "Liverpool are playing really well. They were beaten only once last season, but we will take them on and keep fighting for the title again.

"We will try to do our maximum and we will recover. We know we have the capacity to do this. Obviously, we want to win the championship."

City will attempt to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium on November 23.
