Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has said that Fabio Capello could have led England to glory in the European Championships this summer.
Mancini, who faced Capello as a manager on several occasions in Serie A during stints with Fiorentina, Lazio and Internazionale, has spoken out in defence of his fellow Italian and insists that the FA have lost a top coach.
"I don't know the reason for it but I can say that the national team has lost a top manager," he said.
"And I think that with Fabio they had a big chance to win the European Championships."
Meanwhile, Mancini and the Citizens are gearing up for their trip to Aston Villa tomorrow afternoon.
