Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott believes that his side's performances in the Champions League have 'not been good enough'.

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has admitted that he and his teammates have been below par in the Champions League this season.

The Premier League champions, who had already been knocked out of the elite competition at the group stage before last night's 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, missed out on the chance of competing in the Europa League after finishing bottom of their group.

"It hasn't been of a Man City standard this season so we are disappointed all round really," he told Sky Sports News. "We've adapted ourselves well at times but throughout the tournament we haven't consistently done well and it's not good enough."

City clinched just three points from six games in the group phase.
