Brendan Rodgers: 'Deadline day deals unlikely'

Brendan Rodgers says that the chances of Liverpool bringing in any new players on transfer deadline day are slim.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that it is unlikely that the club will bring in any players on transfer deadline day.

The Reds recruited striker Daniel Sturridge at the beginning of January, and completed the signing on Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho on Wednesday.

However, the Merseysiders boss believes that the duo will be the only new faces at the club come February.

"We got Sturridge in early on and obviously young Coutinho will be a terrific signing for us," talkSPORT quotes Rodgers as saying.

"He'll add that excitement and offensive threat at the top end of the field.

"I can't see any more coming in."

Liverpool let a two-goal lead slip on Wednesday as they drew 2-2 at Arsenal.
