Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers admits that it will be "difficult" to sign Blackpool winger Thomas Ince by Thursday's transfer deadline.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that it will be "difficult" to sign Blackpool winger Thomas Ince by Thursday's transfer deadline.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the England Under-21 international in recent months.

However, Rodgers has refused to rule out bringing the 21-year-old to Anfield in the future.

"I think it will be difficult now. We could still do the deal but it looks like one that is a bit too complicated at this stage," he told Sky Sports News.

"It's about affordability as well. If Tom stays at Blackpool it doesn't mean he won't join Liverpool at a later stage."

Ince signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in 2008 but left for Blackpool two years later.
