Liverpool star Mohamed Salah reportedly wishes to remain at Anfield past the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign, despite his contract expiring at the end of June.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has reportedly decided that he wants to stay at the Anfield club past the end of this season.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed a revival under the fresh leadership of Arne Slot following the departure of legendary boss Jurgen Klopp in May.

Salah has found the net on three occasions and provided three assists for teammates during the first three Premier League contests of the campaign for Liverpool.

The magical winger was in the headlines once again at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday afternoon, bagging a goal and setting up Luis Diaz twice in the 3-0 demolition of Manchester United.

For the seventh straight match, Salah made the net ripple at Old Trafford against the Red Devils, who still look unconvincing under the tutelage of Erik ten Hag.

Salah 'makes' major Liverpool future decision

According to Football Insider, Salah has decided where he wants his footballing future to lie following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.

The report claims that the 32-year-old wishes to remain at Anfield for at least another year, with the attacker hoping to cement his status as one of Liverpool's greatest players.

As is widely known, Salah's current three-year deal on Merseyside expires in June, meaning that he could leave as a free agent next summer.

Although the Egyptian is keen to remain as part of Slot's plans, it is understood that the forward is not willing to accept a reduction in his salary.

Salah reportedly earns £350,000 per week at Anfield, meaning that he is the highest-paid player at the club, above the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.

Contradictory comments from Salah

Reports of Salah wanting to remain at Liverpool are contradictory to the player's comments in a post-match interview following Sunday's thumping of Man United in the Premier League.

The 32-year-old stated that he has entered his "last season", while also claiming that Sunday was his "last match" at the Red Devils' Old Trafford.

Regardless of his comments, it is believed that Salah wishes to stay with the Reds, despite the potential for the winger to earn ludicrous sums of money elsewhere next season.

Saudi Pro League giants Al Ittihad bid £150m for the veteran during the summer window of 2023, and it is likely that a move to the Middle East would be an option for Salah in 2025.
