Takumi Minamino 'close to completing Liverpool move'

Liverpool are reportedly close to completing the signing of Red Bull Salzburg winger Takumi Minamino.

Liverpool are reportedly on the brink of signing Red Bull Salzburg winger Takumi Minamino.

Last week, it was revealed that the two parties have opened discussions regarding a transfer ahead of the January window.

With Liverpool having met Minamino's £7.25m release clause and the player wanting to move to Anfield, negotiations over personal terms have advanced quickly.

According to Sky Sports News, the Japan international was due to undergo a medical with the Merseyside giants on Wednesday.

Providing that no issues have arisen from that assessment, the 24-year-old is expected to officially sign for Liverpool on January 1.

That would put the attacker in a position where he could make his debut in the FA Cup third round against Everton.
