Liverpool have set an end-of-year deadline to agree a new contract with Mohamed Salah, according to a report.
The Egyptian has less than two years left on his current deal at Anfield, but has declared that he wants to spend the rest of his career at the club.
Reports have claimed that Salah wishes to become the highest-earning player at Liverpool, with suggestions that he and his agent are demanding a £500,000-a-week salary.
According to Football Insider, the club's owners Fenway Sports Group want a new contract sorted in the next few weeks ahead of the transfer window opening on January 1.
The report adds that the owners believe the chances of tying Salah down long-term will decrease if negotiations continue into the new year.
The forward's hat-trick against Manchester United last weekend took him to 15 goals in 12 games in all competitions this season.
