Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has given his biggest hint yet that Simon Mignolet will not be replaced before the transfer window closes.
The Reds have been linked with Barcelona's out-of-favour keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen in recent days, but Rodgers suggested that a deal for any shot-stopper before the end of January is unlikely.
The Northern Irishman told the Liverpool Echo: "We will see how that evolves over the next few days but I can't see it happening this month.
"It's just a case of availability. We definitely need to have three [senior] keepers here.
"At the minute we have got one fit and one injured. Brad [Jones] still has a wee bit to go but he's not far away from fitness. Danny Ward at some point will need a loan period to get games."
Mignolet is likely to feature for the Reds when they face West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
