Liverpool reportedly give up all hope of reviving a deal for Lyon forward Nabil Fekir during the current transfer window.

Liverpool have reportedly given up all hope of signing Nabil Fekir from Lyon this summer.

Fekir was on the verge of joining the Reds before the start of the World Cup and even underwent a medical with the club, but an underlying knee problem led to the deal collapsing.

Liverpool had retained hope that they might still be able to revive a move for the France international, but Le Progres reports that the deal is now completely dead.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has repeatedly stated his desire to keep the World Cup winner at the club, and it would reportedly take a bigger offer than the initial £53m price agreed with Liverpool for him to consider selling the attacker now.

The 25-year-old scored 23 goals in 39 games for Lyon last season and has made over 150 appearances for the club overall since graduating from their youth academy in 2013.

Liverpool have already brought in Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker this summer, but manager Jurgen Klopp is still understood to be considering further additions to his squad.
