Bruce Grobbelaar calls for swift Luis Suarez sale

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar advises the club to offload controversial striker Luis Suarez as soon as possible.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar has called for the club to cash in on Luis Suarez as soon as possible.

The 1984 European Cup winner believes that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers should use the money raised from the sale to bring Ajax duo Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld to Anfield.

"If I was sitting in the top spot at Liverpool I would actually try to offload him as soon as possible," he told talkSPORT. "There are rumours that Arsenal are coming up with a £40m bid because that is his buyout clause.

"If they get rid of Suarez then Liverpool can go to Ajax and get Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld. That would be a great coup because they already have a great striker in Daniel Sturridge.

"He will become a brilliant striker if he's given the right service. You saw that at the end of last season."

Suarez, who has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, scored 30 goals for Liverpool last season and was voted the club's Player of the Year.
