Turkish giants Galatasaray are allegedly pushing hard to secure a deal for Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Galatasaray have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man has just completed his third season at Anfield, reaching 97 appearances for the Merseyside giants in all competitions.

However, the Spain international has never made more than 25 outings in a single Premier League campaign and missed the majority of the closing four months of 2022-23 through injury.

During that time, Jurgen Klopp's side put together their best form of the campaign, with it proving enough to make a late bid for Champions League qualification but ultimately leading to a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Klopp has since acquired the services of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai and the expectation is that a further fresh face for the middle of the park will arrive in due course.

That has brought the future of Thiago into the spotlight, with the indication being that the 32-year-old will be allowed to leave for the right price with just one year remaining on his contract.

If reports are to be believed, Thiago has already rejected the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia, seemingly preferring to continue his career in Europe.

According to Fanatik, Thiago has been presented with the opportunity to move to Turkey ahead of next season.

Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has allegedly already held discussions with Liverpool officials in a bid to find a resolution that suits all parties.

The report suggests that Thiago would welcome the chance to represent Gala at a time when they are attempting to strengthen their squad after securing a return to the Champions League.

Okan Buruk's side must first come through three qualifying rounds in order to reach the group stages, and there is a desire to bring in new players ahead of that campaign.

Galatasaray are reportedly already on the brink of finalising a permanent deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Mauro Icardi on a three-year contract after his impressive loan stint from Paris Saint-Germain.

Nevertheless, a number of players have returned to their parent clubs, subsequently resulting in Buruk needing to take action with regards to adding numbers to his group as soon as possible.
