John Aldridge believes that Luis Suarez should not be blamed if he decides to leave Liverpool in favour of Champions League football.

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge believes that it would be difficult to blame Luis Suarez if he decides to leave Anfield in the future.

The prolific Uruguayan has been linked with an exit from Merseyside amid reports that Bayern Munich are favourites to clinch the forward's signature.

"The way Suarez has been playing he should be in the Champions League," Aldridge wrote in the Liverpool Echo.

"He wants to do that with Liverpool but if the Reds are not able to offer him that after the end of next season, then who could blame him if he looked to move on?"

The Premier League outfit are currently nine points away from a Champions League qualifying spot in the table with just eight games remaining in the campaign.
