Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad reportedly submit a world-record £215m bid for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Al-Ittihad have reportedly submitted a £215m bid for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian, who is under contract until June 2025, has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League for a number of weeks.

Al-Ittihad stepped up their interest last week, submitting a £150m bid on the final day of the English transfer window.

While Liverpool turned down the approach, they have been bracing themselves for an improved offer, with the Saudi transfer window open until Thursday.

Representatives from Al-Ittihad flew to London over the weekend to make one last attempt to sign Salah this summer.

According to The Sun, the Saudi Arabian club have returned with a world-record bid worth up to £215m including add-ons.

The report claims that Al-Ittihad have offered Salah a £2.45m-a-week contract to complete a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Ittihad's contract proposal features added incentives, including a large percentage of shirt sales and a £55,000 win bonus.

The Egypt international has also been offered ambassadorial roles for at least three major Saudi corporations, who are each prepared to pay Salah £6m.

While Al-Ittihad are seemingly waiting for a response to their latest offer, they will reportedly renew their interest in January if they fail to sign the 31-year-old before Thursday's deadline.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has played down speculation surrounding a potential departure for Salah, but has conceded that the forward could move to Saudi Arabia next summer.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai recently claimed that his teammate has made it clear that he wants to stay at Anfield.

Both Salah and Szoboszlai found the net on Sunday to help Liverpool beat Aston Villa 3-0, ensuring that the Reds maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has made 309 appearances across all competitions, scoring 188 goals and providing 81 assists.
