Daniel Sturridge has insisted that the Liverpool players will do everything they can to make sure Steven Gerrard lifts the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool sit top of the table with six games remaining in their campaign, and Sturridge believes that Gerrard's dedication to the club over the years means that he deserves to taste success in the league.

"There's no-one more appropriate than Stevie to lift the trophy, not a chance," the England striker told reporters.

"If we win it, Stevie will really deserve it. He should win the Premier League because of everything he has done for this club. Every player in this team will do their best to help him achieve that goal."

Gerrard has won 11 trophies during his career with Liverpool.
