Former Premier League footballer Jamie Redknapp believes that Liverpool winning the title would be "great" for English football.
The Merseyside outfit currently lead the way in the table by two points following Sunday's 4-0 rout over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Liverpool, who have numerous English first-team stars, including Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling, will lift the trophy if they win all of their remaining six games.
"Last year they were 28 points off the title and now they lead by two," Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail. "That is an incredible turnaround.
"Glen Johnson said it would be good for neutrals if Liverpool won the title, but it would be great for English football full stop. They play such fantastic football with a British manager and Sunday had six Englishmen in their starting XI."
Chelsea sit one point adrift of Liverpool, while Manchester City reside four points behind with two games in hand.
Both teams will face Liverpool at Anfield before the season comes to an end.
