Steven Gerrard excited by Lazar Markovic, Adam Lallana deals

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard expresses his enthusiasm towards the signings of Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is looking forward to seeing new signings Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana in action.

The pair arrived this summer for a total outlay of around £45m from Benfica and Southampton respectively, and the Reds skipper believes that both players will excite supporters.

He told the club's official TV station: "I know Adam a lot better than Lazar, and I know he's going to be a fantastic player, he's got balance, he's got skill but also what the fans may not know, is he's good leader.

"He was captain of Southampton, so he'll be a really good member of the squad, so I'm really pleased with that one.

"Lazar I've obviously seen clips on YouTube like every other Liverpool fan. He looks quick pacey and he'll get the fans on the edge of the seat. We'll see with time, I've got big trust in Brendan Rodgers and I'm sure who he brings in will be up to scratch."

Markovic and Lallana have been joined at the club by Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Emre Can this summer, while Divock Origi will move next season after his year-long loan stay with Lille is over.
