Brendan Rodgers keen to strengthen Liverpool squad

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that there is "still some business to do" this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Liverpool are still in the market for more players this summer.

The Reds have already brought Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi into the club during the current transfer window, but Rodgers is keen to continue spending the £75m received from selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

"We've brought in specific players for specific roles - players who fit the profile of how we work," Rodgers is quoted as saying by ESPN. "Of course it's going to take them a little more time than normal in terms of their induction.

"We still have some pieces that we want to fill from the squad so that by the August we'll be strong. There's players to go forward with, so yeah, there's still some business to do."

Liverpool continued their pre-season preparations with a penalty-shootout victory against Manchester City earlier today following a 2-2 draw.
