Defender Jon Flanagan has said that he "never doubted" his return to first-team action after a prolonged spell on the sidelines through injury.
After 18 months out, Flanagan returned to make eight appearances for Liverpool during the second half of last season before he was loaned out to Burnley on a season-long deal.
Flanagan made his first Premier League start of the season in the Clarets' 3-2 win over Crystal Palace before the international break, and he has admitted that he is looking to build on that appearance as he looks to show Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that he can feature in his squad next season.
The 23-year-old told the Daily Mail: "I just want to play regular football and get back into the routine I was in two years ago.
"I never doubted for one second I'd be back, I'm mentally tough. We'll see where it goes from there, and hopefully get back to Liverpool and a starting place."
Flanagan is expected to feature when Burnley face West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Monday night.
