Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan has revealed that he hopes to develop the attacking side of his game following his first goal for the club.
The 20-year-old opened his account for the Merseysiders on Sunday during their 5-0 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Despite admitting that his primary role is at the other end of the pitch, Flanagan is keen to push forward more in the future.
"I'd like to think it's something I can add to my game," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"First and foremost I need to concentrate on my defending as that's my main job, but as a full-back in the modern game, you also need to be able to get forward and pose a threat in the final third."
Liverpool are back in action on Saturday when they welcome Cardiff City to Anfield in the Premier League.
