Liverpool midfielder Fabinho reveals that he is being given time to adapt to his new side's playing style, having been left out of the past two matchday squads.

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has revealed that he is being given time to adapt to the team's playing style during the opening stages of the season.

Fabinho featured heavily during pre-season following his £43.7m move from Monaco earlier this summer, but is yet to make his competitive debut for the club after three games of the new campaign.

Indeed, the Brazilian has been left out of the matchday squad entirely for Liverpool's last two games, but he believes that he is settling in well and suggested that he could make his debut sooner rather than later.

"I'm aware it's a different playing style than Monaco. There were two in midfield there whereas here at Liverpool there's usually three," Fabinho told the Liverpool Echo.

"My midfield partners have provided me with guidance and assistance. So have the defence. I knew it would change and I feel I've adapted well. You seek guidance from the other players around you and that's worked really well and I feel my performances in pre-season were good.

"Monaco had a transition similar to Liverpool. I think the two teams can be compared in this way, both of them have very fast transition, with every fast players up front. I hope to be as important here as I was at Monaco."

Fabinho's next chance to make his debut will come on Saturday, when Liverpool take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
