Kenny Dalglish believes that Sunderland deserved a point against Liverpool.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has admitted that Sunderland deserved the point they claimed at Anfield this afternoon.

The visiting Black Cats fell behind to a Luis Suarez opener during the first half but new signing Sebastian Larsson hit back after the restart to ensure Sunderland earned a share of the spoils.

"Over the game, for the effort and commitment they put in, I think a draw is probably about right," said Dalglish after the match.

"We had a few more chances and were a bit unlucky but for their work and effort they deserved a point."

Dalglish handed debuts to Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson during the match.
