Liverpool veteran Jamie Carragher believes that Daniel Sturridge has already formed a deadly partnership with Luis Suarez in his short time at Anfield.

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has declared that Daniel Sturridge has given the Reds a new dimension in attack during his short time at Anfield.

Sturridge has made an instant impact on Merseyside since joining from Chelsea last month, scoring five times in seven Liverpool appearances.

The young striker continued his strong form against Swansea this afternoon, netting in Liverpool's 5-0 win over the League Cup finalists.

Carragher believes that the England international has helped to take the burden of leading the line away from top scorer Luis Suarez.

He told BBC Sport: "Daniel Sturridge has made a big difference for us since coming in.

"He's not available in Europe which is a bit of a blow but him and Luis look as dangerous as anything in the league at the moment.

"In the last few years Luis and Steven Gerrard have been getting the goals but it is nice to see them shared around a bit more."

A comfortable win over Swansea has taken Liverpool above Michael Laudrup's side into seventh place in the Premier League.
