Liverpool legend John Aldridge has hailed Daniel Sturridge's scoring record as "phenomenal" since he joined the club from Chelsea in January.
The forward has netted 11 goals in 15 appearances since signing for the Reds in the winter transfer window, with the former Blues man grabbing a hat-trick in the 3-1 win at Fulham on Sunday.
"Sturridge's scoring record is phenomenal," Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.
"To put it into context, I've got the best goals to game ratio out of any Liverpool striker in history with 63 games in 104 games. At this moment his record is better than mine and the challenge facing him now is to sustain it.
"He's full of confidence and what's really pleasing is he has taken on board what the manager [Brendan Rodgers] has asked of him."
Sturridge was signed for a reported £12m.
