Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Daniel Sturridge is in contention to face Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
The striker, who has been plagued by injuries over the last 18 months, missed Klopp's first game in charge of the club at the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur because of a knock that he sustained in training.
However, Klopp has admitted that while the England centre-forward will be absent for tomorrow's Europa League tie against Rubin Kazan, he could return to action in the Premier League three days later.
"Sturridge is getting better and better. The time-frame is Sunday, that's what we try to do," the German boss told reporters.
Klopp also revealed that Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino and Dejan Lovren have all returned to training following injury layoffs.
