Mignolet: 'Return of trio will boost Reds'

Simon Mignolet says that 'unlucky' Liverpool will be boosted by the returns to fitness of Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho.

Simon Mignolet has insisted that Liverpool have "been a bit unfortunate" with injuries this season and is looking forward to welcoming back a couple more players.

The Reds have had to make do without midfielder Adam Lallana all campaign, while Philippe Coutinho sat out the last three matches before the international break.

Liverpool were able to call upon Sadio Mane for 77 minutes of Saturday's 4-1 win over West Ham United, meanwhile, having also been without the Senegal international for the previous month.

Ahead of his side's return to action against Southampton on November 18, Mignolet hopes to see all three players quickly find their feet.

"I think we've been a bit unfortunate with the injuries and the suspensions," he told the club's official website. "Hopefully after the international break they will be pushing the rest of the squad forward by adding in the goals and giving us a bigger platform to go from.

"If you get players like them coming back and being fresh after not playing much recently, that can give not only a boost to the team, but also a boost to them individually.

"They will be raring to go and very eager to get on the pitch and score the goals they've wanted to because they've been missing out, and I'm sure they will be ready for any battle that comes ahead of them when we come back after the international break."

Lallana is expected to step up his recovery next week when taking part in a behind-closed doors friendly, and Coutinho is in line to return from an adductor injury in Brazil's friendly with England.
