Liverpool midfielder Emre Can to miss rest of the season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp suggests that midfielder Emre Can will miss the rest of the season due to a back injury.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that midfielder Emre Can will not play again this season.

Last month, Can suffered a back injury and was forced to cut short his time on international duty with Germany.

Ahead of the first leg of the club's Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City, Klopp said that Can was nearing a return from a back injury, but it appears that the 24-year-old has suffered a setback.

When quizzed over the player by Sky Germany, Klopp said that Can would miss the remainder of the campaign, but did not give a timescale for his return.

Can - who has featured on 35 occasions this season - could have potentially played his last game for Liverpool due to his contract expiring in the summer.
