Zan Benedicic has confirmed that he is on the verge of signing a loan deal with Championship side Leeds United.
Speculation surrounding the 18-year-old's future intensified recently when he returned home early from his parent club AC Milan's pre-season tour of the USA.
The midfielder has now moved to clarify the situation, though, having revealed that he is "one step away" from finalising his switch to Elland Road.
"We are waiting for all the documents and the last confirmations, then I will sign. I am one step away from becoming a Leeds player. This opportunity is very good to me," he told Il Calciofilo.
"They wanted me intensely and I have always liked English football. My first goal? To achieve a place in the starting lineup."
Should the deal go through, Benedicic will become the fifth player that Leeds have signed from an Italian club this summer.
