Lazio have confirmed that the club rejected an offer of resignation from head coach Edy Reja.
It has been reported that Reja offered to resign following an argument with director of sport Igli Tare.
However, the club have quickly rejected the offer and the Rome-based side released a statement to clarify the situation.
Communication director Stefano Di Martino said: "Reja presented his resignation today at 2pm, but the club rejected it, so nothing has changed.
"When we return to Rome, everyone will make their evaluations. We give this announcement to clarify matters for the fans.
"Reja sent a written copy of his resignation, but Lazio turned it down. The coach is here now and we'll see what happens on Friday."
Reja has managed Lazio since February 2010.
