Antonio Conte pleased with Carlos Tevez versatility

Juventus boss Antonio Conte praises Carlos Tevez for his versatility after the forward played out wide in the 1-1 draw with Lazio on Saturday.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has praised Carlos Tevez for his performance in his side's 1-1 draw with Lazio on Saturday.

The Serie A champions were reduced to 10 men after Gianluigi Buffon was sent off, which forced Tevez to play out of position.

Conte has revealed that the Argentine forward was moved to a wide left position following the dismissal to help shut out Lazio's attacks and secure a positive result.

"With the dismissal [of Buffon], Carlos Tevez was temporarily used in a wide left position, but returned to the front in the closing stages," Conte told Sky Sport Italia.

"This squad has players who can take different roles, but generally not ones who sit in front of the defence.

"[Claudio] Marchisio, [Arturo] Vidal, [Paul] Pogba and also [Andrea] Pirlo are more suited to a three-man midfield. Tevez did well in the second half to go left when needed to stem Lazio's attacks, then I moved him back next to Llorente for a 3-4-2."

Tevez joined Juve in last summer's transfer window from Manchester City.
