Ipswich Town reportedly ponder making a loan offer to Sunderland for the Championship club's former striker Connor Wickham.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has reportedly considered a loan move for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham.

The 19-year-old, who is thought to have been a previous target for Liverpool, moved to the Stadium of Light from Portman Road in 2011 but has failed to make an impact on Wearside.

It is understood that McCarthy is willing to pay the majority of the forward's wages in a proposed loan deal, according to The Express.

Wickham has scored just one goal in 16 months for the Black Cats and has yet to appear for the Premier League side this season.
