Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has admitted that he is pleased to have secured the services of Cole Skuse.
The midfielder agreed to link up with the Tractor Boys earlier this summer on a free transfer from Bristol City, who were relegated to League One last season.
Having seen the 27-year-old up close in training recently, McCarthy believes that he has recruited an extremely "versatile" player.
"Cole is a really good character, he was captain there and is a talented, tall and rangy midfielder," McCarthy is quoted as saying by the East Anglian Daily Times.
"He is certainly versatile and can fill in at right-back and that helps if you are going to be having a squad of 20 to 22 players. He is a good guy and I have not heard a bad word about him."
Skuse came through the ranks at Bristol City and went on to make over 300 appearances for the club.
